Quote of the Week
“My team and I would like to inform you all that Ohlala has sustained an injury that will take her out of competition for the remainder of this year. Her prognosis is very good, and we expect that, with time and good rehabilitation, she will be back to the top sport next season.”

Show Jumping Mourns the Loss of One of Its Own
Irish showjumper Jack Dodd passed away this week after suffering a car accident in Belgium.
Dodd, 25, was involved in a car accident two weeks ago and was being treated for life threatening injuries at Maastricht University Hospital in Belgium. Dodd’s family released a statement that their son was being kept in a medically induced coma, but sadly, passed away from his injuries on Wednesday, June 6th.
The County Mayo native had recently established his own yard after working with top Irish riders including Cian O’Connor, Shane Breen, Cameron Hanley, and Betram Allen. He competed in the 2014 European Young Rider Championships in Arezzo, Italy and made his first Senior Nations Cup team in 2016. Dodd is survived by his parents, David and Trish.
Our thoughts go out to the Dodd family and all the friends and fellow equestrians touched by this tragedy. Throughout the week, many have taken to social media to share their thoughts on this promising young talent, including Cameron Hanley, who competed at LGCT Cannes this weekend.
Hanley finished second with his team, the Miami Celtics, in the GCL of Cannes, and did not touch a single rail with either of his horses the entire weekend. On social media, Hanley credited the achievement to Dodd as part of a larger tribute to the young rider and his memory.

Justify Becomes the 13th Triple Crown Winner at the Belmont Stakes
Whether you're a racing fan or not, you can't help but marvel at Justify and jockey Mike Smith's Triple Crown-winning performance in Saturday's 150th running of the Belmont Stakes. The Bob Baffert trained colt, who did not race as a 2-year-old, led from the start in the 1.5-mile race, somehow finding another gear in the final stretch to secure the win.
