La Baule, France – January 14, 2021 – The 2021 Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ for European Division 1 will be kicked off in La Baule from the 13th to the 16th of May. The only French leg among seven European qualifiers before the world final in Barcelona will be, for the national coaches, an opportunity to review their best pairs in view of the Tokyo Olympic Games held this summer.
This year, 10 nations of the Division 1, among the best in the world, will take part into the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ series: Germany, Belgium (2nd in 2019), France, Great Britain, Ireland (winner of the circuit in 2019), Italy, Norway, Netherlands, Switzerland and Sweden. Each of the national teams selected four qualifiers to try and grab the precious points that will allow them to reach the world final in Spain.
The Teams to Compet at the FEI Nations Cup of France CSIO 5* at La Baule
The Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ of La Baule CSI 5*, held on Friday 14th May at 2.00pm, will align 8 teams: Brazil, France, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Switzerland and Sweden. Except for Brazil and Mexico, the 6 other countries will try to store the first qualifying points for the world final in Barcelona (30/9 – 03/10/21).
The French Qualifiers
Thierry Pomel, the French national coach, will count on a strong team in La Baule to grab the first points. In this search, the French will compete in the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ of Switzerland (St Gall, 03 – 06 June), Poland (Sopot, 17 – 20 June), and Netherlands (Rotterdam, 24 – 27 June).
To be noted, the CSIO5* of La Baule will be a preparatory round for the selection of the French team in view of the Tokyo Olympics.
